Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Orphie has no account or sign-in, and it doesn't ask for your gig-app logins. Your log stays on your phone.

I started a shift by mistake. How do I remove it?
A shift in progress has no discard button. Tap End shift, then Save shift. Then open the Log, find the shift, and delete it.

Does Orphie record anything while a shift is paused?
No. Pause turns location off. Orphie records no route or miles until you tap Resume.

Why does location stay on after I tap End shift?
If you end while driving, location can stay on for up to 10 minutes, or until you've been parked for 2 minutes, in case you resume. Save shift turns it off and keeps the record from the moment you tapped End.

I forgot to start a shift. Can I add it later?
Yes. Add the shift by hand from the Log. Orphie marks it "Added by hand", and it has no route.

How do I send my records to my tax professional?
In Taxes, choose the year and tap Export PDF, or Export CSV under it. Each makes one file, and your phone's share sheet opens so you can send it.

How do I move my log to a new phone?
On the old phone, open Settings › Backup and restore and tap Back up now. Save the file somewhere the new phone can open, such as iCloud Drive or Google Drive. On the new phone, restore from that file in the same screen. Restoring replaces everything on the new phone. On Android, you can also restore from the automatic Google Drive copy.

Can Orphie tell me which miles I can deduct?
No. Orphie keeps records and shows estimates. It doesn't decide which miles qualify, and it doesn't file your taxes. Ask a tax professional about your own return.

Can I use Orphie in another language?
Yes. Orphie is in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Choose one in Settings › Language. You don't need to change your phone's language.

How do I delete my data?
Open Settings › Delete all data and confirm twice. Orphie removes everything on the phone. Backup files and copies in your own iCloud Drive or Google Drive stay until you delete them.

We can't see your log, because it stays on your phone. Your backup file and exports contain your routes, so don't attach them unless we ask.
